cape st. mary's bird sanctuary, on the avalon penninsula, is my favourite place in newfoundland. and "let me fish off cape st. mary's" is my favourite traditional newfoundland song. we head out tomorrow to pick up our grandson in st. john's (he'll be staying with us for 3 weeks). on the way home on sunday we'll visit cape st. mary's. neither keith nor eamon have been there before. i hope they love it as much as i do.
Hi Shawn, And you continue to make me homesick ... it jas been so long since I have been to "the cape". Have a great time and thanks so much for comments and words of encouragement! best wishes, Barbara
I'll be going to the St Mary's bird sanctuary in July, hope there's no fog! But I heard that the oil spill in the Gulf is probably going to affect the gannet population .... not so many birds will be able to come back to the rock to breed.
