finn is 19 months old. because my grandchildren live an 8 hour drive from here, i don't see them every day. when you are raising your own kids, you know them intimately from birth. you witness every change, every discovery. with grandchildren, although the relationship is strongly bound with love, you are a step removed and when they're that young, it takes awhile to get to know who they are. and for them to get to know you. finn is our third grandchild. and this time i know - with frequent visits, with lots of silly phone conversations - he will become as "real" to us as the other two have.
