today, september 1st, i'm taking a holiday. my brother and his friend left toronto on friday morning and drove east. they travelled through quebec and new brunswick, took a side trip to p.e.i. and caught the newfoundland ferry from nova scotia yesterday morning arriving here last night. they leave again tomorrow morning to travel down to maine, new york state and vermont and back into ontario. all in less than 2 weeks. a toronto-style vacation... but today we're having a holiday. a trip down to the cabin. a little hike. maybe some blueberry picking. it's cool and may rain - perfect weather for a wood fire in the cabin. looking out at the ocean...
